Azalea Trail – 2154 Inwood Drive

2154 Inwood Drive is a classic River Oaks home in the Georgian Colonial style. It was designed in 1941 by La Marque architect F. Perry Johnston for original owner J. L. White and was one of the last homes completed in River Oaks before private construction stopped for World War II. In 2005, the home underwent an extensive renovation conceived by Eubanks Group Architects to incorporate today’s amenities without impacting the home’s provenance. Period perfect design elements on the exterior of the home, such as the neo-classic pediments, gas lanterns, hinged and operable Spanish cedar shutters and a mahogany front door with beveled glass and polished nickel were meticulously preserved. The bright, spacious formal rooms feature floor to ceiling windows, extensive millwork and wainscoting, and espresso stained oak floors. Interior designer Charlie Burns of Morgan Square Interiors, Spartanburg, SC, created a blend of antique and contemporary furnishings that mix well with the owners’ extensive collection of original works of art featuring scenes and artists from the coastal area of Charleston, South Carolina.  The beautifully manicured gardens, designed and maintained by Jake Farmer of Mosaic Outdoor Design, LLC, Houston, offer seasonal color, stone hardscape, and a peaceful fountain.
